I'm Jeff. I write software for a living, remotely, from a house in Montgomery, Alabama, and I have spent an embarrassing number of evenings trying to make some other thing pay too. Delivery apps. Surveys. A Roblox game I built with my kids. Short videos filmed in a parked car. Little AI tools nobody asked for.

This site is where I write down how those went. It is the written side of Everyday with Jeff, and it exists because almost everything else written about side hustles skips the part I actually care about: what happened after the first week, and what it cost.

What you will not find here

No numbers you can plan around. No "here's the system." Nothing about replacing your income or working from a beach. I have not done those things, and I am not going to pretend I have so that a page ranks better.

What I do have is a lot of specific evenings that did not work out, one or two that sort of did, and a running honest count of both. That's the whole pitch. Post the Ls too.

About the stories

These accounts are composite and dramatized. Weeks get compressed, conversations get tidied up, and people who appear more than once are characters rather than transcripts — including, at this point, me. Any dollar figure is what it was on one particular day, for one particular person, with one particular car. It is not a projection, it is not a track record, and it is definitely not advice.

I am not a financial advisor, an accountant, or a lawyer. When something on this site brushes up against money in a way that actually matters, the honest answer is that I don't know, and you should ask somebody who does.

Why the site looks like this

Bright orange, big buttons, the whole hustle-blog costume. That's on purpose. It seemed funnier to keep the packaging and change what's inside it.
